Green card/change of address

My wife was granted the "permanent resident" status via and INS letter. In the
meantime we had to move to Sacramento.(from the bay area). Now we are confused if we
should send in the "change of address" form. The INS states that even if we do they
will send the green card to our old address. I think we need to use the form to check
the status of the card and keep waiting. Form G-731C (change of address) the other
side is the inquiry of status of I-551.

Did you change your address? Are you awaiting an I-551 card? Then, of course you
use the form.
The sponsor also has to fill in and send a form, I-865.

Yes she is waiting for her greencard. we were through on our AOS interview in
February when she was granted the permanent resident status. the reason we are
confused because on the G-731C form there is a reminder: " If you move, please make
arrangements with the U.S. Postal Service to send your mail to your new address. Your
card is automatically mailed to the address shown on your application."
