Getting student visa
A student applying for a student visa this summer in Bulgaria is
required to go for an interview at the US Embassy there.
Other than the standard information (sponsor financial info,
acceptance from the University, etc.) he will have with him, is there
anything else he should be aware of to assure getting approved?
If there should be any delay in getting the visa, he might not be able
to make the arrangements in time for the flight, etc.
Or at this time is this basically just a rubber stamp matter?
Thanks,
Rick

It should be just one day process, unless you are asked to bring more
papers.
If for any reason, you missed your flight, I am sure they can out you
on another flight.

Re: Getting student visa
Well, he should convince the interviewer that he/she is solely going for
Studies. I have seen people being approved for stupid courses whereas others
were rejected as they sounded suspicious.
I had applied for student visa way back in 1991, and the only thing I
submiited was the I-20 and passport.
I wasn't even interviewed, at that time students who had visited US before
weren't getting interviewed anyways

Re: Getting student visa
he/she needs to prove that he/she has strong ties to Bulgaria, and that he/she will come back there after studies. He also needs to show I-20, passport, financial documents.
That should be it. Good luck!
