Getting my papers ready...

Hi all,
I have been reading the board like mad and have the K1 FAQ printed and highlighted. I
wanted to get everything ready for when Omar's divorce is final.
Well, I talked to him last night and he got the *last date* for divorce hearings with
the Jamaican Supreme Court before fall recess. The only problem is that the hearing
will be in Kingston and they have been having riots there for the past few days. I am
afraid he will get "bumped" if the court closes because of the riots. If he does, he
won't get a court date until October and I am applying through the TSC.
Keep your fingers crossed. I am hoping he can be here before the end of the year.

Good luck!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. As long as it's taking to process now - you never know how long it's going to take in a month or two.

Best of luck to the two of you.
As a side note, if I were you I'd go really heavy on the "proof of relationship".
I've heard of a few people who were questioned a bit more closely than what seems
"normal" if a divorce was official within a year or two before the interview (of
course, it's also possible there were other circumstances in those cases that
made the interviewer wary). Better to be over-prepared than under, I say.
Again, best of luck. Beth
