GC holder out of US for 3y - can anything be done?
I have a question. My sister is Green card holder and she has been out
of the US for 3 years. I was told before that she could apply for a
special visa to come back and then "renew" her GC here. Is this true?

Your sister should consult with an immigration attorney who is experienced in this particular area of immigration law.

There is the "SB-1" visa for permanent residents. Eligibility is quite fact specific and is not suitable for a brief discussion on an internet NG>
