My fiance' lived in France for a little over a year. We are trying to get his
police certificates together and he will need to get one from France. Does anyone
know how to go about getting the police certificate there and what exactly do we
need to ask them for?

They ask for : Un Extrait de Casier Judiciaire No4( i think).

He can get it by writing to a place in NANTES (France). Sorry i forgot the name. Tell
him to look in the first pages of the Phone book in France. He will find all the info
on how to get a Extrait de Casier Judiciaire.

Trust me, I am french, i went throught it in 98. And if you need more help, feel free

No he is not French,he lived there while doing a placement job for his college
degree. He is from the United Kingdom. I spoke to the local police and they said they
had no idea on how to get a police certificate from France. And also the addressed
envelope they gave me has a different address...it's not the one that says something
about New Scotland Yard,Broadway. It is to an office in Bristol? Will it then be sent
to the one in London??

If he is not french, I have no idea what is the document that they want. I don t
think they keep record of people if not french ( exept if they did crime!!). He
maybe should try to go to a police station and ask, or to the City Hall. Sorry, can
t help more.
