Form 156 Question #15 (LONG)

On the consular form 156, on question #15 is asks:
"Have you ever applied for a US non-immigrant visa? Yes or no." "Have you ever applied for
a US immigrant visa? Yes or no."
My question is, is this is the first time we have applied for the K-1. Am I supposed to
mark "YES" because this is my "applying for a non-immigrant visa" Or, mark "NO" because I
have never applied for one prior to this petition? The K-1, as I understand it correctly,
is actually a non-immigrant visa, but at what point does it become an immigrant visa?
Ever? Or never?
By the way, if any of you are wondering why I am filling out these dumb consulate forms
for my fiance, I just realized 2 days ago, my fiance is AWFUL at filling in forms. He
already totally screwed up his OF 230 I (completely written in his own native language).
He also told me he messed up his I-94 THREE times on his plane ride to visit me last
summer. There must be a more convienient way to do this. Does anyone else have this
problem as well??? I am pretty good at forms myself, except for the parts that seem a bit
vague. Well, I took it upon myself to use his scanned forms to paste his info into a JPG
file and upload back to him to fill in. Is there an easier way? I really don't want to
wait for him to mail me everything, and then my wasting money to mail it back Global
Express. And NO, I cannot use all downloaded forms. All of his forms are Frankfurt
specific versions of the original INS forms. I would be willing to create fillable
versions for anyone going through Frankfurt if someone could show us how to do that later.

Go to Jonathan's Help site for K-1. He has a filled-out sample form in pdf format. Ask
your fiancee to copy all the relevant stuff. I think the form filler is called John Smith
or something like that. If you have not read the faq yet, go to www.k1faq.com When you
have trouble with questions on the form, stand in front of a mirror, look yourself in the
eye and repeat the question in a conversational style and see what the reflection answers.
Then write down the answer on the form.

Exactly what Moses said when he got those filled stone tablets with the "10 suggestions".

Okay okay...enough picking on me. We're having a big struggle getting these things
filled in correctly. My man is a little thick-headed.

Hi, It wasn't meant for you. You please carry on with your task ahead. Nobody can (or
needs to) explain why they do what they do for/with their alien fiancees and spouses. I
meant the descriptive subject line for Jonathan ( retired, BTW) who may want to know how
his efforts are paying off. My analogy elevated him high enough that {if he actually reads
and believes it} he could have a nose bleed. Onigiri

Two things:
1. Answer the questions as though for previous visas, not including the current K1.
2. I think they fill out less forms in general in some countries in Europe, including
Austria. Reinhard's amazed at all the paperwork involved in daily life here. I filled
out all the forms for both of us for the K1 - I had more practice and my handwriting
is better.

Its bad enough as it is..he has everything there now. I told him to print Jonathan's
filled forms and write his excatly the same except to fit our case. I only hope Frankfurt
likes printed forms because their are a bit different in the German version, and he keeps
messing up the originals.

The Packet #3 & #4 forms on my site are for information and practice only. I do not
recommend using forms different from those sent by the consulate. The good news is that
they will likely send him all the forms again since you got the original ones by FAXing an
approval notice. Most likely they will send out Packet #3 as soon as they get the original
approval from INS.
