Question Fastest Way To Get Green Card

Hi,

I am actually asking this question on behalf of one of my collegue. He is new to US on E-3 visa.He is working directly for Verizon as an Engineer.Does a green card application (EB-3 or EB-2) may effect/delay etc. his E-3 status extension request with USCIS?

How long does it take to get a green card on E-3 visa in EB-2 or EB-3 category?EB-3 is unavailable now and what does this means? The person lives and work in Dallas TX and any suggestions or advise that may help him to make green card process fast and smooth?

Cheers,
Barry

Where was he born? That may also affect timings.

Is he even eligible for EB-2?

Is he planning adjustment of status or consular processing?

All this should lead to a conclusion that he needs an immigration attorney.

Supposedly a pending application for GC is not a reason for USCIS to deny an E3 renewal.

Time depends on the category, where he was born, etc

Why isn't he here asking? Immigration is one of those things where you really need to research your position and be as aware as you can be of your options and plans.

I was too before my employer moved me over to H1-B. I agree with you Ray -seems like quite a few are taking advantage of it.

Hi:

There are so many EB-3 admissions per fiscal year [October 1 to September 30]. This is for FINISHING the process -- right now there are no numbers left until October 1, 2009 which is the beginning of FY 2010.

The reason for the screwups in EB-3 is a history of serial FUBARS which I care not to go into now.

Actually I guess Australia bring up skilled people from overseas through PR and then Australia is unable to retain them (because of global skill hunt).USA picks them up on better salary and benefits.

Count me in too! Born and bred Australian (although a foreign born mother).

(Arrived in the US for the dot com boom on an internship. H1B for six years, then straight onto an E3. First E3 issued in Feb 2006, second one in June 2007 (new job) and just had an internal extension after two years of the second E3).
