Default F1 to H1-B Visa Question - Please Advise

Hello everyone,

I am in a difficult sistuation and trying to find some way of resolving
it. I was on F1 visa and graduated last May and got an OPT which
expires on May 15, 2006. It was unfortunate for me because by the time
I found a job and asked the employer to sponsor me for an H1 - the cap
was reached. A few months later I realized that I was miserable at the
job and decided to find a new one. There was no problem - I got a very
nice offer immediately since I am an accounting and marketing major.
Now, however May 15th is coming up and I dont know what my options
are... My questions are these:
1. How/What shoud I ask my employer?
2. What paperwork I need to have to make the process smoother?
3. Is there a way for me to apply for a visa waiver or something so I
will be able to work until Octiber 1st - what other options do I have
since my OPT expires. I dont have much family in my country rigt now to
go back to so I would like to stay here and continiue to work

Please give me any advise you may think will be beneficial to my
situation. THANK YOU
