F1 cancelled?
i went to the US with an F1 visa issued in 1996 valid until 2000.
But then in 1998 i left to come to canada.
Upon my return for a family visit to the US in 1999, the immigration officer at the airport revoked my F-1 visa, stating that it was no longer valid as i wasn't a student in the US anymore.
And when they ask the question if i had a visa cancelled, revoked or denied what should i answer?
And will that fact work against my case to get the K1?

Why confused? You said was revoked, so you answer with that.
Were you trying to enter on it when you came in 1999, even though you
weren't a student?

If you have had a visa canceled, I don't think you qualify to enter on
the Visa Waiver Program.
When you entered under the visa waiver, isn't there something on the
I-94W that says this?
That could cause a problem when getting the K1.

i think it is possible under certain circumstances. for example i have a
cancelled visa on my passport through no fault of my own. when i went to get my
k1 visa they put one in my passport where the picture was so bad you couldn't
tell it was me. i queried it and they stamped 'cancelled without prejudice'
through it and pasted one with a clear photo on the next page. i think/hope
'cancelled without prejudice' ought not to cause problems - though i'm nervous
of meeting some jobsworth at the POE on wednesday who treats it as a big
deal... ack!

You are right, rereading his original post, his says that INS let him in
on a Visa Waiver the same entry that he tried to use the F-1. Since he
no longer was in school, I don't understand why he was tryng to enter on
an F1 if VWP was available to him.
