F-1 Visa - Ties to Country
Hi,
Im in the process of applying for an F-1 visa, just wondering if anyone has any
experiences of successfully applying, especially recently (i've been told the process
is tougher since Sep 11th)
I have my I-20 and i know my proof of finances is ok. Im just wondering what I should
do to prove my ties to my country (UK) I currently live with my mother so I dont own
any property, I currently have a full time job but obviously wont have once I start
at University, I have several bank accounts in my name + credit card and tax history
of 4 years, I have a car owned in my name. I cant think of anything that I can add
though, will this be enough?? Does anyone have any tips?
Is it likely that my previous vists to the US will be brought up? I visited once in
2001, and twice so far this year? Is this likely to be questioned? (I stayed with a
friend, female, didnt stay longer than the waiver allowed etc though)
How likely is it that you are called in for interview? I have read in places that
it's not often, some places say it's everytime!!
Thanks in advance,
Neil
