Default F-1 to AOS: How/When to tell the University

Some questions regarding F-1 to Marriage Based AOS adjustment:

1. How soon after being approved for Conditional Permanent Resident should a graduate student receiving Research/Teaching Assistantship (and therefore tution waiver) inform the university that his visa status has changed ?

2. What will the student (who is in his final semester and months away from graduation) and the university actually need to do to formally process the change in his status at the university?

3. Will the change in status be frowned upon by the university in any way or jeopardize receiving the RA/TA/tuition waiver ?

In an earlier post, you said you were a US citizen... so I'm guessing this information is for someone else. Okay, I'll play along... Unless your tuition waiver is tied specifically to your immigration status and not to the fact that you're an R/TA, then you are not obligated to tell them of a change in status within any set timeframe.

Nothing.

Is your tuition waiver tied to your immigration status (I think not) or to your position as an R/TA (I think so)? Your change in status will probably have no impact at all on your tuition waiver.

Feel free to substitute the words "you" and "your" with the name of the actual person.
