Default Expiry Date not mentioned on I-94

Hi all,

I am in a very strange situation. I arrived to US on 21st August 2006
on L2 visa. The I-94 provided by Immigration officer does not have a
expiration date on it. On passport They mentioned 'until date' as 9th
Feb 2007. Does this mean my I-94 expires on 9th Feb 2007. Also the
officer asked me to get the latest petition of my husband as petition
expiry date(9-Feb-2007) and I-94 expiry date(29-Jul-2009) of my Husband
were different. Do I need to go to Atlanta? Currently I am staying in
Melbourne, FL. Atlanta is very far from Melbourne. Or can I get some
information on this in Melbourne international airport.

Any help will be appreciated.

What exactly did he put on the I-94? Did he tell you how long he was
admitting you for?

What do you mean by "on passport"? Who put this date and where exactly
did they put it?

I can't tell without more precise information.

Again, I don't understand what you mean. Are you saying that your
husband's I-94 admits him until beyond the end of his petition? How did
that happen?

What is the expiry date of your Husband's current L-1 approval?
What is the date on the I-94 your husband received when he last entered
the country?
Has your husband's L-1 been renewed or extended since he last entered
the country? If so, does the bottom right-hand corner of the petition
approval notice have "I-94" printed on it?

I don't know why Atlanta would have anything to do with this.

On my I-94, the officer in Atlanta airport mentioned only the type of
visa i.e L2, arrival date (21 Aug 2006) but has not mentioned the
'expiry date'. On my husband's petition ie I-797 they hav mentioned
7th feb 2007 as the expiry date. So he put this date on my passport.
When i showed him my husband's I-94 which has 29th july 2009 as the
expiry date, he did not agree. The office in Atlanta airport asked me
to get the latest Petition.

The officer in Atlanta airport

On my passport the officer in Atlanta airport has put 9th feb 2007 and
has not mentioned any date on the I-94.

On my husband's petition ie I-797 they hav mentioned 7th feb 2007 as
the expiry date. When he came to Atlanta, they put a seal on the
photocopy of Petition & wrote 29th july 2009 as 'until date' on the
Petition & I-94. When i came here i had my husband's photocopy of I-94
but didnt have the updated Petition.

    > What is the expiry date of your Husband's current L-1 approval?
Its 9th feb 2007 but the officer changed the petition date as 29 th jul
2009 & expiry date on I-94 is also 29th jul 2009.

The expiry date on I-94 of my husband is 29th jul 2009.

Yes.

My Port of entry was Atlanta. The office in Atlanta airport asked me to
get the latest Petition there.
