Expired passport
Hello,
I currently reside in the US since 2001 with a J1 visa
(*no* 2years home residency requirement).
My employer plans to apply for an H1b on my behalf.
My question is:
Assuming I get the BCIS notice of approval for my H1B visa for 3 years.
Can I get the visa sticked on my passport at the US Consulate in France
even if my passport
expires in 2005 (that is, before the end of my expected duration
of stay, i.e. 3 years) ?
Thank you!
Philippe

Re: Expired passport
Yes, no problem. You will need to get a new passport before 2005, but can
continue to use the old visa by showing both passports when you enter the
USA.
There is more information about when you do or do not need to get a visa
into your passport on my FAQ page.
