HI,
I recently recieved Candian Permanent Resident Status ebing a citizen of Pakistan. My present employer in Pakistan has setup an off shore branch of Our textile company in the United States. For this pupose I have been offered an option to relocate to the United States by my employer to look after its U.S business.

Now my question is as follows:-

1. Can I work in the United States for my employer.. Keeping in mind my Canadian Immirgartion Status. If yes, then how?
2. If yes to my first question, then, by working in the United States will I also be maintaining my Candian Immigration Status.

Thank you,

L1A or L1B baby. Every indian and pakistani is coming to the US via those routes. Plus if get the L1A -- you can apply for an instant green card. Not bad huh?

Plus there's no wage restrictions, and your company can send you to work for other companies (contract) too!

get it before congress tightens those visa's up.

The Canadian immigration status is irrelevant in this context. You should
of course check with experts on Canadian immigration about whether
prolonged absences from Canada may cost you your Canadian residency.

For the USA, you would need some kind of status that allows working. As
another poster suggested, the L-1A or L-1B are the most likely candidates
here.

See above, I don't know. I did hear rumors that Canada allows absences of
up to three years, but please do not rely on what I am saying here without
double-checking.
