Default Experts - Labor certification approved - what next?

Hello experts,

My labor certification was approved on April 2. I was not aware of
this approval. I just found out about it today.
I had traveled to Canada on April 5 to become a PR and re-entered the
U.S. on the same day. (Actually labor certification was taking so long
that I did not want to risk losing both Canadian immigration and Labor
certification not coming through).
Now I do not wish to pursue Canadian immigration at all. Is my travel
to Canada and becoming a PR going to be a problem?

What are the next steps after this approval? I understand I have to
apply for I-140. Some people say that you can apply for I-140 and
I-485 concurrently. Some say that you should apply for I-485 from your
home country because it is much faster there to get a green card. What
is advance parole? What would be a good place to educate myself about
all of this?

Thanks for helping

Jill

Dear Jill,

Yes, consular processing (I-485) is a fast option. The processing time of I-140 and I-485 depends on in which state you are in.

BTW, how long it took for your LC and in which state are you in ?

Regards

Don't be silly. I-485 is adjustment of status while being present in the US.
Filing I-485 will NOT get you consular processin!

I meant, instead of I485, he can go for a consular processing which is a fast option.
