Hello All,

My husband is a political refugee from Iran. Long story short, his passport was
confiscated by the INS about 3 years ago, and anyway it has expired. At this point he
has no passport at all. I have two burning questions:

1) Do you need a passport to receive your interview?
2) Is it going to be impossible for him to even get a passport? I have heard stories
where the Iranian gov't takes special glee in turning down passports to those who
have left their fair borders.

He says that he knows it will be easy to get the passport AFTER he's approved for the
green card, but I'm afraid he'll need it for the interview. We have all of the papers
to fill out to get it.

What are your opinions?

Thanks, Lisa and Reza

CLARIFICATION: I meant, in question 1, do you need a passport at the interview to
receive a green card?
