Default Employment Authorization

Hi All

Just requesting some help. I applied for AOS through marriage to a US
Citizen over a year ago and my name check is still pending.....At the
time of my application I didn't file for a work authorization but have
now decided that I want to do a little of home work so I can continue
to stay home with my young children but want to do it legally. On the
form it asks for I am applying for......I assuming that I am applying
for permission to accept employment.....However I was previously
issued a work authorization a number of years ago when I applied for
my AOS through my 1st spouse....so I doubt I would put that i am
renewal but not sure if I am correct to assume I should just check
applying for permission to work. The form also states Have you ever
applied for work authorization...I know to check Yes and I also know
where my office where it was granted but when it asks for the date and
copy of the documentation I know this sounds crazy but I have no idea
where my old employment authorisation card is as it has been atleast
5yrs since I had it and I also don't recall the date on it. Would I
be best to just include a cover to explain my situation or could
someone else suggest what to do. Thanks for your replies

Yes, you're filing for permission to accept employment. This is not a renewal of your old work authorization.

Answer all the questions to the best of your ability (even the date..if you only know the year, just list that). Attach an explaination of how you obtained your previous EAD, and that you no longer have a copy of it.

If I were you, wouldn't e-file this one.

Best Wishs,
Rene
