my now wife when entering san francisco POE received a notation on her passport for
her temp ead. (came in on K-1) i went down to the local ss office and was approved
with a ss card that states authorized to work. question, do we still need to go to
the ins for the EAD card? seems to me, she's already authorized to work.

thanks

Until the I-94 expires (90 days after entry) she is, indeed, work authorized.
Obviously for work beyond this date she needs a full EAD, renewed each year until she
is a permanent resident. She can file for this with or after filing the I-485.

Andy.

Yo vmlam,

Would you mind telling us where she was coming from? SFO is going to be my POE, so
I'd like a SITREP on the current trend in EADs.

Thanks -Javaranger "out"

Yes, I'd like to know about that too as San Fran is to be my POE. Last I heard,
though, the likelihood of getting an EAD stamp at the airport was 'in your dreams'.
If things have changed, that would be VERY nice!

Best wishes Rob
