Hi,

I should probably know this, but does the 90 day limit include weekends? As my H1-B expires in May 2004 this is a little worrying!

Also, if the worst case scenario pans out that I haven't received my EAD by May, would it be ok for me to go a little bit over my H1-B expiration whilst waiting for the EAD? Will the INS turn a blind eye to a couple of weeks?

"90 day limit" ? What are you talking about?

Sorry Jeff. To be a little more specific, apparently when you apply for your EAD, if you haven't had approval by 90 days you can go to the office and have it issued on the same day.

It's 90 calendar days.

I'm curious - if you have an H1-B, then presumably you are working for
a sponsoring company? Will they not renew the H1-B for you? Why is it
that you need to switch from H1-B to EAD?

Thankfully, it's 90 calendar days. If it were 90 NBC working days, that would pan out at, oooh, 3 calendar years?
