E2 Visa questions.
Does anybody know what the current waiting time is for e2 visas at the moment.
Is it better to go out on a B2 visa and then apply for the E2 once we have closed on the business.
Has anybody actually managed to see this whole E2 farce through to the end, and was it worth it.
Look forward to your replies.
Thanks.

Question about change of status date (H1 -> F1)
I recently applied for a change of status from H1 to
F1. My application got approved on Dec 23 2005 and my
I-94 card says that my F1 status starts on Dec 23
2005. However, I received my
I-94 card on Jan 10 2006 and was working with my H1
employer from Dec 23rd to Jan 10 2006. I was not aware
that my change of status to F1 had been approved and
hence I continued to work with my employer. As soon as
I got my I-94 card indicating my new F1 status, I quit
my job. My questions to you are:
1. Can USCIS penalize me for the time I worked while
on F1 status, i.e between Dec 23, 2005 and Jan 10
2006?
2. Should my company pay me for the time I worked
while on F1?
Thanks for any help!

Great irrelevant post!
Back to your E2 question. Which consulate are you dealing with?

Yes. Actually, there is a difference between consulate and embassy. It just
happens that they are located in the same building in London. Rule of
thumb: embassies deal with foreign governments, consulates deal with
foreign individuals and businesses.
Therefore, visas are issued by consulates. In many places, embassies have a
consular division that acts the same way as a "stand-alone" consulate
would.
You will usually also find consulates in other cities (not all issue visas),
and sometimes you will not find a consular section in an embassy. For
instance, in Germany, the main consulate is in Frankfurt, but the embassy
is near the government in Berlin (Berlin also has a consulate, but located
in a different part of the city).
