Default E2 renewal processing times - latest experience

Just wanted to put the timeline of my E2 renewal out there for those wondering how long London are taking to process these currently. I know I was looking for this information while I was waiting.

This was a second renewal for my business and I completed the filing myself (all two inches thick of it!).

Previous visa expired Nov 14th 2009
May 5th 2010 Submission Fed-exd
May 14th email from Embassy acknowledging receipt and requesting DS-156E be recompleted and emailed to them
May 19th email confirmed acceptance of DS-156E
May 20th CC charged fee

July 19th email invitation to interview received. Exchange of emails that day confirmed date/time for interview
July 23rd 8am interview (arrived to queue at 710a second in line, left Embassy around 915am)
July 27th passport received back by couriers.

All done for another 5 years and there's still some summer left.
Best.

did you have to leave the USA the moment your visa expired

my visa is initially valid for 1 year (expires august 2011) am just curious if I will have to leave usa on that date to deal with the renewal in the UK

thanks

Terry

Hi Terry
One year? Sounds a bit mean. Anyway good luck with that.
My visa expired mid Nov but you get two years from date of entry (which I had) so I stayed put until June when I needed to travel outside the USA again. It's the date on the white card that's all important.
No comment was made on the fact that I had left it over 6 months before reapplying.
Best
Robert.
