DV2005 LOTTERY & PHOTO REQUIREMENTS PRINT MISTAKE
On the Web Site the State Dept. says regarding the photos:
If a new digital photograph is taken, it must have a resolution of 320
pixels wide by 240 pixels high, and a color depth of either 24-bit
color, 8-bit color, or 8-bit grayscale.
* If a photographic print is scanned, the print must be 2 inches by 2
inches (50mm x 50mm) square. It must be scanned at a resolution of 150
dots per inch (dpi) and with a color depth of either 24-bit color,
8-bit color, or 8-bit grayscale.
Bear in mind that in the first line, what they call "resolution" is
actually a DIMENSION.
THE ACTUAL RESOLUTION HAS PROBABLY TO BE SET AT 150dpi for both the
Digital Image, as they specify later for scanning a printed photo, AND
the scan of the printed photo. They can be also 300x300 pixels,
keeping the resolution at 150dpi.
I wrote "probably" since they don't write an exact value for the
digital image, on the other hand there's no reason for them to specify
anything different, since a digital image is such, regardless if it
has been taken with a digicam or scanned photo.
I hope this mistake will not void otherwise correct entries.
GOOD LUCK!
PS: I'd like to know though, how many entries will be disqualified
because of photo mistakes...
