DV lottery - failure on interview
Hi there,
I wonder, if you ever heard about the case that somone had been rejected
by consul during visa interview (DV lottery). I assume, that parson who
failed had been inline with all DV lottery requirements (education, work
experience, nice health and police history).
Regards,
Jacek

Of course! I have seen it personally in US Embassy in Warsaw. There was
about 60% refusals of polish an russian citizens in the day of my
interview. I think there was many different reasons, and I can't say
exactly, why they has denied.

Consular officers do not have discretionary powers to deny *immigrant* visas,
except for health reasons, inadmissibility due to criminal history, fraud, or
missing paperwork.

Non-immigrant visas can of course be denied, for example for perceived
immigration intent.
But the DV lottery is for immigrant visas.

Thanks. However, I am curious if I'll encounter any difficulties. I have
not been able to provide some data about my wife (like place of
residence her father etc.).
