Default Dv 2007

I applied for the DV programm of 2007. I filled in my name as the
primary applicant and then my wifes and sons. Now I read somewhere I
can do another registration but then with my wife as the primary
applicant. Is this true?

Yes, it is true. Families effectively get double the odds of immigrating. If
your children qualify (i.e., they have a high school degree), they can
enter as well (but unlike your entry, it wouldn't do you or their siblings
any good if they win).

It gets even better. If you and your wife were born in different countries,
both of you can choose to count under either country's quota. That's
particularly important if one of the partners comes from a non-qualifying
country. You can also use this method to pick a country that has better
odds.

OK, forgive me for being dense. They will not disqualify me when we
redo the application with my wifes as primary applicant on the same
address?
My wife was born in another country so I guess I am lucky :-)

Correct, they will not disqualify you. This is because it is actually always
an individual who is applying, never a family. Being married merely means
that your family gets to come along if you win. And if your wife wins, you
get to tag along.
