Does my wife need to be in the country to apply for EAD?
Hi all!
I'm new to British Expats!
We are moving to Manhattan from Yorkshire in June, I have an offer of employment which covers all relocation etc and E2 visa for me and my wife.
I've been informed that the for my wife to work, she will apply for the EAD which can take around 4 months.
My question is - Does my wife need to be in the USA before apply for the EAD on an E2 Spouse Visa or could she stay in the UK and continue working until the EAD is approved.
Any help would be much appreciated.

She needs to be in the USA on her E2 visa, then she can apply for the EAD. She can then return to the UK if she wants to continue working until the EAD actually shows up in the mail.
