hi all


I'm filling the I-485 based on marriage!

My sponsor is a conditional Green card holder !

Can he sign the affivadift of support? since my husband doesnt meet the requirment !

Download the form and you can read the instructions. A permanent resident
can be a joint sponsor. Doesn't make sense, though, as long as this person
is still being "sponsored" by somebody else.

Firstly people, the sponsor is the US citizen. The permanent resident is a
joint sponsor. Subtle but important difference.

Second, of course it makes sense. A permanent resident can have an adequate
income to act as a joint sponsor. In fact a permanent resident can be their
own co-sponsor like in my case: My wife gave up paid work to look after our
daughter at home; my income is what counts for the affidavit of support.
