Default Do you leave your passport at the Embassy at the Interview?

Just after Christmas, we got notification of my wife's interview date at the Embassy in London. The date is January 31.

We were wondering if you drop off your passport at the Embassy and then they mail it back to you, or if they right there and then stamp it and hand it back to you?

We're just trying to estimate when she'll actually be able to fly over here (Lord willin' the interview goes smoothly).

Don't know about London, but after my husband's Euro k1 interview in the morning, we left the passport there and picked it up with visa inside in the afternoon.

Yes you leave it at the Embassy. You also have to pay 9.50 GBP for the
courier so that they'll send it back to you. They quoted me "within 5
working days" but I actually got it back the next day (which I believe is
extraordinarily quick).

I would suggest she waits until she gets her passport back before she books
flights, but she should definitely receive it back within the week.

ad,

The visa is not something that can be 'there and then' stamped. It may not take long to do each one, but it's a process that's probably run in scheduled batches not one at a time.
