I applied Advanced Parole when I filled I485. But I have not filed EAD at that time. When
I travel back and reenter the state, do I need EAD to be able to get in?

Thanks advance for your help lei

Hi,

THIS SHOULD NOT BE CONSTRUED TO BE LEGAL ADVICE. I AM NOT A LAWYER. I DON'T EVEN PLAY
ONE ON TV!

The EAD is only used to authorize employment. To reenter the US you present your advance
parole letter and your passport.

This is what my lawyer told me about EAD and AP: I have to have an EAD if I come back to
US on an AP, because at the time I enter this country I will be condisered in I-485
pending status instead of H-1B and I will need an EAD to continue my employment. But, of
course, you can always use H-1B (if you are an H-1B holder) to come back, then you won't
need an EAD.
