do I loose green card ?
Hi
My friend who has a Green Card is panning to go to his native country
for 2 years. Will he loose his green card. What are the rules ?
Can he submit an application to INS stating the facts ?
Thanks for your time

If he plans carefully and does everything right, he can preserve his U.S.
permanent resident status. See the following:

Re: do I loose green card ?
One can apply for a reentry permit
that allows one to be ut of US for two years. Permamnent resident status is
preserved, However, this will
casue delay before one becomes eligible for applying for Nauralizaion.
