Different A Number ? Why ??

Dear All, I am very confused with the meaning of A# assigned by INS. First, when my
attorney submitted my file to INS, I got a fee receipt with an A# on it. About a
month later, I got my Advance Parole document. The A# on the Advance Parole was the
same as the one on the prior fee receipt. So, I though that A # was my identity to
INS from now on. However, today I got my "Adjustment of Status Receipt Letter" (
I-485 ). I got a different A#! Is this normal? And if not, what action should I take?
Thanks for your input.

I don't think it matters.
I used to have a EAD card with a A#, I thought it was permanent too, even when I
applied for I485, I put down that number as my A#.
When I got my receipt and the GC approval, I got a different number. That will be my
"permanent" number from now on.
