I am in deportation right now, and i want to know if i can apply for a work permit.

I hope you have a good lawyer. Deportation is not for the amateur.
In any case, your question is way too general. Deportation has many
stages, and there can be many different reasons for it. For instance, if
your deportation order is final and you are in custody, it would be rather
pointless to have a work permit ;-)

In any case, your question is way too general. Deportation has many
stages, and there can be many different reasons for it. For instance, if
your deportation order is final and you are in custody, it would be rather
pointless to have a work permit ;-)

I *think* that in this case you can apply for voluntary departure, and get
employment authorization once that is approved. You then have 120 days to
leave the US.
If you hope for cancellation of removal, I really don't know. As I said
before, this is something where you certainly would want the assistance of
a good immigration attorney.
