Default criminal record hinders visa?

Hi, Can I apply for an EB-3 visa based on a job offer if I have a
criminal record?

I was convicted of posession of a marijuana joint (1 gram). I need a
waiver to enter the U.S. and I have been renewing it (I-192) since
1999, and currently have one valid for 5 years.

Does this make it impossible for me to be approved for a work
visa/green card? I'm an Assistant Editor on a TV series with 3 years
training/experience. Is the EB-3 visa the right category?

Thanks.

You'd have to get an approved waiver to go with the immigrant visa packet. Instead of an I-192 application for an I-194 waiver, it is applied for using an I-601 I believe.

If it was for more than 30 grams of marijuana, you'd most likely be SOL, but I'm pretty sure they'd grant a waiver for one gram depending on how long ago it was.
