Default Congressman's office told 150 days "Nebraska"

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Nebraska informed my Congressman's
office that 150 days before it hits the desk of these sloth's. 1st NOA March
25.
So, I am looking at four months +, then Embassy interview - 30 days. I know
a lot of you are in my boat, but I wanted to shed some reality on this
terrible, terrible injustice. I do not know if they are saying this to get
them maneuverability, or this is just fact.
How often are any of you calling NSC, or any Center? does it help at all to
call?

Thanks

It does not help to call. But you will get approved in about 4.5 months. If your application does not have any issues the BCIS has to deal with.

Mine got approved in 133 days fron NSC.

Hi, Todd. I am on day 134, today. I call NSC twice a week. I found out last Friday, day 130, that our petition was on it's way to an officer. I'm not sure if it has landed on a desk since then, but I plan on calling one day this week. You will get the standard response from them about the 150-180 days to process, until the status actually changes ie: On an officer's desk, enroute to an officer, approved, etc. I didn't start calling until about a month ago, when I saw that NSC was picking up the pace. It was really good to hear that our petition finally moved off the shelf Good luck!

OK, I couldn't wait until Friday. I just called NSC and spoke with an officer. Our petition was actually on it's way to an officer last Thursday, 4/24/03. It has not reached an officer yet and the average time it takes for an officer to receive it, is 7-10 days. Or, so they say today, lol. Still, it's good news to me

Hi NevAnna~! One has to wonder ~ "Our petition was actually on it's way to an officer last Thursday, 4/24/03. It has not reached an officer yet and the average time it takes for an officer to receive it, is 7-10 days." - exactly HOW does NSC handle these files?!?! I'm in Canada and I receive mail from my Colorado fiance in 4 days. What the heck does NSC do with those files that takes 7-10 days for them to move from "The Shelf" to an officer's desk? Even if "The Shelf" and the officer's desk are in different buildings on opposite sides of town..... why does it take that long? It brings to mind silly images of turtles with files strapped to their backs............!!!!!!!!!! LMAO!!!!!!

Seriously, though, I've been looking here every day to see news from you and from Scott (no, I'm not ignoring everyone else, I celebrate them all, but there are a few people I feel more of a connection with, being very close in date of receiving our 1st NOA's!!) and I'm waiting to celebrate yours - it WILL be soon!!!

Mikki

Im with Goya0002 on this one........ aslong as your documents do not have any issues, it should be before the 150 day mark. I got approved in 136 days. Not bad huh?!

Good luck and be patient, your time will come!

Shaun

ps it may be an injustice but its the only way to be with your loved one! Just keep striving, the longer it takes the more worth while it becomes! Patience is the key!

Thanks Anna,
It helps me put this house of cards in better perspective.
I am very happy for you too. Seems any motion is better then none in this
necessary fiasco.

I hope NSC keeps moving. From Feb 15th to March 15th, in a 1 month period, they moved about 2 months worth of cases. From March 15 to April 1, a 2 week preriod, they moved 10 days worth of cases, according to their reports.

I'd just be happy if they didn't fall further behind from what they're processing them at now.

LOL, Mikki.. That really made me laugh, thanks I have no idea what they do with them for the 7-10 days it takes to reach an officer. (I can't help but think about turtles with files strapped to their backs, now hahaha) I think that's a good question for Friday's call. True, calling doesn't do any good, but, when you hear that your file has finally moved, it's a really good feeling and it eased our minds a bit I sure hope you're approved very soon, k1filer!

Same back Bro;

The sad thing is, we are dealing with people's lives. All the hopes and
fears, and in all are cases - The dream of love and happiness.
LOVE, with that invasive bureaucratic rub; it is comical, and very painful
to me.
I wonder if maters of the heart, are truly separate...To some with - great
retirement, and great health program - The Government worker?

They must have a life too; And do they see all of us as, well, odd in a
way? Or a Mass of influx?

I mean, I never read about a case where a caseworker (if that's the name)
talked to a Petitioner?

I wonder, when a "Case Worker of Love" sees the photos, the emails, the
letters of introduction; Do they have a monument of understanding? Or are
they impervious to this THING they do? Before they grab that power, with the
word "APPROVED" the big stamp. I wonder if it makes that passport Chuc-hunk
sound?
Are they kind of like a cop who has seen way, way too much stuff that would
keep me awake for life, and just detracted. I would... I guess... I mean
they do not call us, nor write us.

I am not being melodramatic. But, I guess I take living as an American,
voting as an American, and being the hard working -inpatient American,
that's use to having "IT" now.
And yes, **** yes, I miss her, and want her NOW, not is a half a year....

Just a thought... With a lot of frustration...

In a thread last week I was bemoaning the TSC time for 130s (still at 8 June 2001 since December of last year and NO that's not a typo) and how the processing time had advanced from 500-600 days to 990-999 days. The response that I got was that the processing times were not accurate and basically they had to put something down to satisfy the BCIS. It may satisfy the BCIS but it sure doesn't give me a warm fuzzy.......Keep your chin up!
