confusion about I 131 form/advance parole
I had some confusion about this 131 form/advance parole. Is permission
needed to re-enter the US (and so fill out this form), if a permanent
resident (one who came to the US on a K1 and adjusted to permanent
residency and had conditions removed) wants to leave the US for a
month? Is it a different matter if the conditions haven't been
removed? The form seems to say that it's only needed if the trip is
more than a year. If anybody could clear up when this form is actually
needed I'd be grateful. Please email me at ariellez1 @ hotmail . com.
Thank you!

If you will be gone longer than a year at one time, it's advisable to use Form I-131 for a Re-entry Permit. You should also maintain ties to the USA to prove that you are not abandoning your PR status. Some people recommend getting a Re-entry Permit if you plan on being gone longer than 6 months at one time.
If you are a green card holder and are planning to be out of the USA for 1 month, you do not need to use Form I-131 to apply for anything.
Best Wishes,
Rene
