Hope I get my approval soon ....
NOA1 21st April 2003

"...cause then for sure I ..."

And now for double jeopardy......answer: A common esxpression denoting an outcome that is a cinch or a 100% certain outcome.

What is "for sure", Alex.

Also- a term that should never be used in the same sentence that has anything to do with US Immigration proceedings.

Michelle, sorry but you're going to have to change it again.

We have an NOA1 from NSC of April 3. There is no way we will make our
planned December 6 wedding date. NSC is still processing early February. It
will be at least late October or November before we're even approved, then
another 6-8 weeks for paperwork to get to Manila, then another month until
Janette can get an interview and visa. I'm guessing she'll be here by Feb
providing we hit no snags.

Good luck.

I thank you for warning me but I really am set to get to USA for our wedding
date November 29th....surely that's more than enough time to get approved
and get out there !
I am UK and My fiancé USA
Seems some lucky bugger gets an approval in just 15 days through NSC....what
a joke eh!
I'm hoping things are gonna speed up cause I know the Brits don't seem to
have too long a wait once they are approved so here's hoping
Hanging in there

Best of Luck to you guys too Soon you will be together

I know what you are going through and it sucks(!). I am from the UK (Sussex) and my fiance is the US citizen. You must be in a state of limbo - "are we or aren't we" situation. You don't know what to plan or just wait and see.

Our wedding date is Sept 6th - long story short, fiance was working and living here with me in England. Engaged Jan 03, wedding plans made. Then, plans changed, he had to move back to US with his US firm in July, notice given to us in late May so had to apply for K1 immediately.

This Newsgroup is SOOO useful. Unlucky you for Nebraska but the London Embassy is very helpful (and quite speedy). If you haven't already, I'd recommend that you do the following:

- Request an advanced pack of forms (packet 3) from the US Embassy in London:
AMERICAN EMBASSY LONDON
Visa Section
5 Upper Grosvenor Street
London W1A 2JB

Include a covering letter explaining your situation

- Once completed, you can send these forms back (all except DS230 part II) to the Embassy for preliminary processing. They won't be able to give you an interview date until you are approved but it'll certainly save you time. Do NOT send documents (i.e. Police Certificate, etc)

- You can also email the US Embassy with any questions on [email protected]. This is far more useful than the expensive phone line, where I got virtually no answers.

- Apply for your Police Certificate NOW (needed for interview, (takes upto 40 days to come through)

- Get your fiance to fill out, get witnessed and send you his I-134 Affidavit of Support (needed for interview).

Get organised now so that when your approval is received, you stand a chance of making your wedding date.

I am extremely unlikely to receive my K1 before my wedding. Our wedding is going ahead anyway but I will then have to return to England to file for a K3 visa and wait, going through the whole process again.

If I could have delayed our wedding for the sake of being able to stay with my fiance directly following it, I would have. Ask yourself which you'd prefer - delaying your wedding again or being without him back in England for X number of months?

I wish you the best of luck
