The US company I worked for in H1B status went out of business on Feb 9. It officially
layed off employees on that date. Do I have a certain grace period to find a new job and
is H1B transfer to the new employer still possible?

Am I currently out of status and can this affect my future green card application?

A friend of mine suggested temporary chage of status to B-2. Is this a good idea?

Any comments / advice are highly appreciated.

Andrey
