Default CGFNS , NCLEX, work permit and Visa Issue

Hi all,
I am a registered nures from India with 4 years of experience .I wish
to move to US for the job.
What i want to ask is

1: What are the exams i need to give to have permit to work there ??
2: I have heard about CGFNS,IELTS,NCLEX(this to be given in US).But
some people also told me that CGFNS is not necessay. So what is
reality. If CGFNS is not necessay at all states can anyone tell me
names of these states or place from where i can get it.
3: Is NCLEX is compulsary to work there as Nurse. Coz the Institute
Here in India give training for CGFNS and IELTS but not for NCLEX .so
wondering if it is necessary ??
4: What conditions does the work permit put on US?? It there any bond
or some years to get the job ?? I have heard that one can take their
spouse to US once they get permit and can get work permit for Spouse
also . Is this true ?? What are the hidden things to know about this ??
5: I am planning to get married and move to US and my husband would
like to take some higher education there. So will it be possible for
him to get admisssion to nay University On the basis of VISA which we
will get (if i get any job) or Another STUDENT VISA is to be claimed ??
if yes which is more helpful and less problematic ??
6: I have heard that to work as registered nurse in US we need to clear
NCLEX . But the registration for NCLEX is statewise.(meaning thereby
you register with a state not US country as a whole) so if i get
licence to work in some state can't i move to another state ?? if yes
what is the procedure ?? Does this change requres any Money ?? if yes
how much ..
(the reason to do this : may be i may get work permit in differnt state
and my husband will get admit in different state .. so what should we
do in such situations ??)

Any help in this reagrds will be greatly appreciated ..
I dont know wheter this is the right group to post this question .. if
not please suggest a suitable one ..

Thanks and regards,
Swadi

Hi Swadi

Have you looked at the CGFNS web site? It gives a lot of information for foreign nurses and also links to other sites where you can find out which states require CGFNS. Here are some link to the CGFNS and also the NCSBN.

http://www.cgfns.org/

http://www.ncsbn.org/

Good luck
