Case Status Problem

I am waiting for my I-751 to be processed by NSC.
I submitted the paperwork on March 09, 2005 and according to the latest processing time information my case should have been processed by now.
Unfortunately it hasn't and when I try to get Case Status information online or on the phone I get told my case number does not exist.
What is going on? Is this normal, i.e. is it normal for USCIS to not even recognise my case number?

Yes, that's normal for the I-751. It's about the only status that can't be tracked on line. Once filed, you just have to wait for the decision to come in the mail, unless it gets too far past due, then you can contact a congress person to get involved to inquire about your case. Or, you can make an Infopass appointment to go in person and inquire.
Best Wishes,
Rene

Based on the current speed that NSC is churning them out at, you can expect to see your I-751 decision any day now. A little more patience!

Admittedly the only reason I started looking into it is because I happened to look at the processing times and they are shrinking rapidly for this type of application at NSC, so I can't really complain.
Also, I read on this board about people slipping through the cracks and it seems like some applications just get lost. I was worried that because my case number is not in the system that maybe I was one of these people.
Thanks for the reply and I'll wait another couple of weeks before I start investigating further...
