Removal proceeding IS the risk. Cancellation is an attempt to avoid the damage you've already incurred. If you can find a way to defend against the grounds for removal, then cancellation won't necessary. On the other hand, cancellation is often far easier to accomplish than defending against the removal. If you go for cancellation, you must admit to removability. Which approach is right for you is something you really need to talk to an attorney about.
