I am working for a high tech firm in New Jersey and in the process of applying for my
passport lost (in the mail room of Washington because of the antrax scare)

I have only my Canadian citizen card but with no passport.

I have to go back to Canada and I would appreciate any input as to my chance of being
harassed when coming back to the States/

I know I can pass majority of the time waving my Canadian citizen card by reporting
that I only come visiting

But there is a downside risk of lying about my work status.

Any input would be appreciated.

I live in Michigan, sofar there are longer lines and delays between Detrit and
Windsor and are more subject to car search.

Do you still have your I-94 card, or was that with your passport ? If you have it,
that with your citz card is just find. You MUST indicate your work status in the USA.
The receipt you were issued will do in place of the I-94. If neither, they *may* be
able to find you in their computers.
