Since the 1996 Immigration Act have any Canadian nurses working in the US got their
Green Cards? Allen

Canadian nurses like all other NAFTA (TN) classifications are NON-Immigrant
classifications. The only way for a Canadian nurse to obtain a green card is to be
petitioned for by their employer. The best thing to do is to contact the legal
department at the hospital, they will be able to advise you on the proper procedure.
The only problem is if this is done the Canadian nurse cannot hold the TN
classification. This is because an individual cannot hold NON-Immigrant status and
apply for Immigrant status. I hope this helps.
