From Canada
I would like to work and live in the U.S. for a period of 2 years. What
would I need to accomplish this? Not sure where to start. Thank you in
advance for your help.

See http://www.grasmick.com and the Interactive Visa Selector.
If you don't meet the requirements, you can't go to the US. Let me
guess you've got a boyfriend/fiance down there as a student?

Re: From Canada
No, actually my fiancee and I live together and he is Canadian, as am I.
I am not sure though what requirements we need to live there for awhile
as we would like to visit the states this way and travel through.

Generally, you can't just live there taking "odd jobs". Most employment
visas must be employer sponsored and they tie you to that employment.

Re: From Canada
Check out the NAFTA list. You can obtain employment, and stay 1 yr. You can
also renew. Wouldn't recommend just doing it for a vacation.
If you are a Nurse, you can write your own ticket to where ever you want. If
not go to Nursing school, what a way to travel, at someone elses expense,
and make some big $$$ in the process.
