Can I claim my foreign wife as my dependent?
I am a US citizen, living in China now. I'm happily married to a local
Chinese woman. Since my money here is pretty good that she doesn't need
to work. Although I'm an American, she is still a proud Chinese and has
no desire to become an American. My question is when I file the income
tax next year, can I still claim her as my dependent? since she doesn't
have a US social security number.
Thanks in advance.

It seems that you can do pretty much whatever you want ( include her as
a dependant or not or even file a joint return ):
http://www.irs.gov/publications/p54/ar02.html#d0e8029
Regarding the SSN, she can get an ITIN and use it in lieu of the SSN ;
for that, you would use form W-7:

Of course you can claim her as a dependant. The IRS is making you pay taxes
to the US aren't they? You know even if you gave up your US citizenship
they'd STILL go after you for income tax!
