Default British Citizen F1 interview

Hi there,

I intially went to the USA on a B1/B2 visa in sept 2000 and i
started university there in january 2001 and sent for a changed of
status from B1/B2 to F1 -- which was approved on Sept 12 2001.

Now i have come back to England, and as i have left the USA i have to
return back to America with a valid F1 visa inorder to complete my
degree. I am in my senior year with approximately 6 months of my BS
Computer Science degree left to finish.

I intially sent it on 1st november 2002, and was refused on a 221(g)
-- insufficient information. I sentthe application back to the
embassy with teh required information and i recieved itthis morning
and it was refused again for insufficient information again.

They now have requested me to have an interview with them next week.
i am very nervous and am very curious as to what they are going to ask
me. However above all i am not understanding how i have submitted my
application with " insuffiecient information", as i submitted all the
information requested.

I have a sister who is a permanent resident in the States and whois
paying for my tuition and giving me free rent forthe duration of my
studies.

i had submitted the following :

**valid passport
**previous passport
**new i-20a/b
**old i-20a/b (which was approved on 9/12/01 when i applied for change
of status)
**passports photos with forms DS-156 and DS-158
**transcritps from university in USA i attended
**FINANCES ---
1) my sisters bank statements and letter to say that she is sponsoring
me
2)my mum and dads bank statements to say that they will provide all my
travel fare and anything else i may need during my studies
3)a letterfrom my mum and dad to say thatthey will support me in my
air fares or anything she i need in America
**RESIDENCE
1)my car insurance papers before i left for america
2)a fully flexible ticket from the states to england
3)a photo of the car my parents bought for me
4)a photo of the house i have lived in all my life and a letter from
my parents to say that they own this house (inc. theit house deeds)
ans that i will be returning to live wit them. Also saying that i will
be insured on the car they bought me.
5)15 photo's of my family who i am very close with
6)my bank statement
7)my gcse and a level certificates
8)a letter from me of my intentions to return back to england

Now they say they want to see :
1)evidence that i will leave america after temporary stay such as
employment or schooling..
2)explain relationship to any person you plan to visit in the US
(citizen or gc)
3)provide evidence of your finances
4)copy of your CV (resume)
5)i-20 a-b
6)expired passports
7)copies of any correspondence i had with the US immigration & nat.
service

for my interview i must bring all of the above however am very
confused tothe following...
for 1) i do not know what to submit now as i thought i had submitted
enough.. what else could i submit???????????
my sister has a gc will that affect my application??????????
i provided many forms of financial evidence what more can i
submit????????
why would they want a copy of my CV as i have no experience in the
field i am studying for???????????????????
i already did submit mu i-20a-b and expired passports, so why have
they asked for this again?????
why could they need documents of correspondance i had with the US
immigration???????

please could someone help me as my interview is very soon.. could you
also tell me what i should expect when i get there...

thank you

First off, you need to be aware that the officers at the consulate will
not spend more than a few seconds on each case, so they certainly did not
review every document you sent in. That explains why they ask for a lot of
the information that you already sent.

It sounds as if you are a borderline case for a visa denial based on
suspected immigration intent. This is not surprising, given that you have
a permanent resident sister.

They are looking for a copy of your CV to see what your overall life plans
are, what you did in the past, and whether it is consistent with your
stated intent to return to the UK.

I think you may need to come up with better evidence that you will return
to the UK. A picture of your parent's house is not all that convincing...
Ideally, a letter from an employer stating that he will employ you after
you return, or something like that.

Hardip:
Its not uncommon for INS/Consulate to ask for stuff they already have.
It happens all the time. Bring copies of all INS applications and
notices. Their main concren is that you have a sister who is
supporting you, thus may be an intended immigrant. You have to
establish better ties with UK than USA. Make resume for hwtaever you
studied and stayed in last 10 years will help your intentintentions.
Get some info on your future employeers in UK and bring their website
info/catalog with you.

Hello,

and thank you for your response, i have today recieved a letter for a
job that i had been interviewed for a couple of weeks back stating
that i have been "successful for the vacant position" and that i will
"start my employment with Company X on completion and graduation of my
Computer Science degree in the US"... So i think this will be a strong
tie to England ... like you said ....

Also, i was wondering if i had a bank account with approx £4,000-5,000
would that also mean close ties to England???????

As i am in my early twenties i have not worked in the IT field and
will start to gain experience when i complete my degree... i only have
done part time work in the past (on weekends and in the summer
holidays in odd places) ....also do not have any of the strong ties
(ie, property, mortgage or much work experience ).. and i do not know
what else to submit in order to show my ties to england??????????
how do i get out of the trap of being denied the visa.. what else can
i do to not be suspected of immigration intent???
what could i say to show the us consulat that i do not want to
immigrate to the US?????
As i am a senior in my degree i have less than a year left of my
education and a lot of money has been spent on it. Therefore i need
this visa for this, but how do i show that i will return.. is the
letter from the employer enough or would i need more???
please help me
thank you
