Bring mom over to US from India
I want to bring my mother-in-law over from India - she is old and we
would love to get her over here for good, though a tourist visa is
fine for an initial visit. How hard is this going to be? My wife has
a green card, I am a US citizen, and she has a sister who is a US
citizen.
I have no time to go to India and help with this process - is there
any reason why a naturalized US citizen would have any disadvantage
getting this to happen over a US born citizen? I assume not, can not
get the time off, and my sister-in-law has the time to go over so
would prefer if she can do it.
Any experiences around this would be great. Thanks all!

Mom will have to prove that she has no immigrant intent. She should show strong ties to India. Property ownership, working, owning a business, having kids still at home in India, spouse in India, etc. Having 2 daughters in the USA doesn't look good, unless she's got more kids in India who need her to come back. She should also bring proof that she has enough funds to cover her visit in the USA.
As for immigrating to the USA later, only a USC can apply for a parent to immigrate, so the daughter who is a USC can file an I-130 for mom any time now. Should take about a year to process, then mom comes comes to the USA with her immigrant visa, and becomes a PR upon entry.
The only issue would be providing health care for her. She won't qualify for any medicare or social security benefits, so you guys would be paying out of pocket for her health insurance (pretty expensive from what I understand).

Re: Bring mom over to US from India
Just have the US citizen daughter sponsor her for immigration. If she has
no criminal record she should get approval within a year and can visit with
no problem.
Where is the dad? Does she own a house in India? Does she have other kids
in India? Ties my friend, ties to india very imp for B1/B2
