If you are talking about the CIS “scanning” a form, OK (not sure if they do though). If you are talking about a petitioner or beneficiary scanning a form to get it from a foreign country to the petitioner’s hot little hands in the U.S. (to get it filed faster) than that would be a huge mistake. The signature must be an original signature, not a scanned signature or photo copy of the signature.

I ask my clients to use a blue ink ballpoint pen and press down hard when they write their names. That way, if the officer has concerns about a signature they might be able to see how the pen pressed into the paper. Plus, my client’s sign each page of the G-325A separately (I don’t use the carbon copy govt. issued G-325As) so each signature will likely be slightly different and that can also help an officer who might suspect a scan or photo copy of a signature.
