background check
Dear experts,
What's a typical turn around time on the background check?...I know it varies from case to case! but I was wondering when is a good time to start freaking out (I did already )... couple of years ago I had to go through the same deal for my H1B...back then it took about 4.5 weeks...we are about 3 months since we filed my AOS
Thanks,
Rick

After filing AOS, it can take anywhere from a matter of weeks to a matter of years. There really is no way of knowing. You can start worrying after a few months, I'd say...then keep following up every few months with an Infopass appointment to make an inquiry in person at your local office.

Re: background check
Is there really any reasoning to it though? I mean my friend got his done in 2 months, I have only been waiting 1 month, but have got my AP already for a visit to the UK for xmas because I don't have faith that I'm not going to be backlogged for a long period.

sadly I have had to miss my brother in laws wedding in Jamaica because I am still pending and did not have enough notice to get the AP in time
