B2 Visa for Australian
My interview is coming up in a few weeks. I recently graduated
University and am taking a break, going to the US for approx 6 months
to stay with my boyfriend therefore I can't use the VWP as I would like
to stay longer.
I have sufficient funds to cover the trip.
I also have a letter from my employer who I've been with for 4-5 years
stating that I will be returning to work after I get back from my
holiday.
I was born in Australia and have family ties here.
I have read that even though they ask for us to prove our family ties
and job - sometimes it isn't enough. I don't have any property here in
Australia and I'm still living with my parents.
Has anyone had the B2 Visa interivew at the US Consulate in Melbourne
and can share their experiences? Is it easier to get a tourist visa if
you're Australian or doesn't it make a difference?
Thanks for reading.

The key is to have a bona fide reason why you can't use the visa waiver.
Very few people have that - and you don't, either. "I want to be with my
boyfriend" actually raises red flags.
I think you would be better off going for the 90 days (make it 85 to
allow for unexpected surprises), and leave well enough alone.
