b2 Visa appt April 6th and No visa yet...help??
Hi all,
Went for my b2 visa in London ( I am a British Citizen) on April 6th 2009, I was granted the visa and had no problems, no administrative processing needed.
My question is:
I read on the website that it takes 38 days to get the interview which I have done, then it takes 3-5 days processing.
I was told when I went for the interview that I will receive it by courier WITHIN 7 weeks.
Whats the deal? I still haven't received it, is there a back up processing them in London?
I'd like to visit the US soon....
Thanks to all to answer

Maybe it's just CYA language? I'm 99% sure they run at least one more check after the interview, for everyone.

Oh I didn't know they did checks again after they tell you yes.
To be honest this is my first time visiting the US and going thru all of this.
The people at the embassy make you nervous....and to tell you the truth, I don't want to jinx anything by asking questions.
I was just wondering when anyone thought I might receive it.

It's always nerve-wracking to do
Why did you apply for a visa? Is it a special trip?

Re: b2 Visa appt April 6th and No visa yet...help??
I need the b2 visa because I would like to stay more then the 3 month visa waiver.
I am planning to visit lots of place in america, I have everything planned out, starting in New York and working myself thru every state possible.
Then after visiting all the places I would like, I will head back to New York to go back home to England and finish getting my Masters.
I just wanted to this while I still could and while I have the money to do so. When I come back to England and go to complete my Masters, then money will be tough for a while, so hence, the trip now.....LOL
I am a bit nervous about it all but yet very excited.
You are all very sweet on here, are all Americans as nice as you guys???
Maybe the Embassy is backed up in getting the visas out??
