Default attn: all NVCers

When you call the NVC case status number, don't rely on the automated
system. My application has been recieved and is being forwarded to
the Guatemalan Embassy, but the automated system still says they have
no record of it. So, if you want the status of your application, talk
to a real person.

As a side note, does anyone have a guess as to whether the voice on
the NVC's automated system is a male's or a female's? I've been
wondering about that for a while. =)

Good point. I found that out last week when the automated system had no record of our approval..............30 minutes later and after talking to a very nice young lady.........I was assured our petition had been forwarded to London already.

Another tip...........make sure to get your new case number when you call the NVC.

Cheers,

Yes the automated machine does not work... When I called they told me
it was a new system and was not working properly.... You must talk to
a real person to find out your status. It takes about 3 weeks from the
second NOA till the NVC approves and sends out the letter. This was
for my K1 .... If you are waiting for a month and still do not hear
anything then I would call them for sure.
